Fläkt Woods has received another big order, supplying 11 Air Handling Units for the Sea Dragon project, located in the Mexican Gulf.
 The EUMM range is a modular system offering flexibility of function, size and process. The units feature flush fitting stainless steel panelling with a 50mm thick double skin, housing rigid sheet mineral wool insulation optimized for heat retention and sound attenuation.
All components are corrosion resistant to cater for the corrosive, saline atmosphere of a working life on the oceans of the world. The units are ideally suited for the vessels, two of the largest semi-submersibles in the world, which have global ultra deepwater and harsh environment capability.
Commenting on the new contract, Mikael Karlson, Director of Marine/Oil and Gas said; “Fläkt Woods has unique expertise and experience within the oil and gas sector. We have delivered HVAC solutions to advanced offshore units, including drilling rigs and ships and fixed and floating production platforms. This order is strategically important for further business in this and also other projects in the Oil Industry”.
Semi-submersible drilling platforms are used for exploratory drilling of potential new sights. The platforms are self propelled and capable of drilling in depths of up to 2,400 meters. Once the platforms are in position they can use dynamic positioning to remain stationary.
